The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), has expressed delight in the way and manner the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu is piloting the affairs of the state especially in the areas of finance and human resources.
Its National President and Chairman of Coucil, Dr James Ekerare Neminedor made the disclosure during a courtesy visit on the governor at Government House, Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
He said: "I must confess that Your Excellency, you are a good manager of finance and human resources in view of what I have seen so far. I was in Kebbi right years ago, but when I arrived now, I thought I was in Abuja.
"Your Excellency please keep the flag flying, this developmental stride should not stop untill the desired goal is achieved. Actually, you have made the ANAN management proud."
Going by the achievements recorded by the governor in a few months, the President said the council deemed it necessary to confer on him a fellowship member of the council to further boost his morale towards greater productivity.
The President said they were in Kebbi for their 5th Mandatory Continues Professional Development Programme to train and inculcate new knowledge and skills for the good of both government and governed.
Ekerare Neminedor noted with satisfaction that 50 per cent of the present cabinate members in the state were members of ANAN including the Accountant General of the state, FCNA, FCCSA, FCFCRA, and FCNA, Alhaji Bello Ibrahim, Commissioner of Finance, other Commissioners and Special Advisers among others.
He identified accommodation and mobility as some of the challenges of the state chapter of the association.
Responding, Gov. Nasir Idris appreciated the President for the visit as well as selection of Kebbi State to host the programme, while assuring the entire members of conducive environment throughout the exercise.
The Governor said he decided to embark on developmental projects in fulfilment of his electioneering campaign promises.
"That's what informed my decision to distribute fertilisers free to farmers across the state to boost agriculture, while, other sectors like education, health, commerce and industries, environment among others are also receiving the necessary attention they deserved," he said.
In response to their request, the governor promised to provide the association with a vehicle as well as accommodation.
