Gov. Nasir Commissions New Maternity Complex and Two Blocks of Patient Medical Wards in Gwandu
Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu of Kebbi State has commissioned new maternity complex and patient medical wards with capacity of 40 beds constructed through the effort of Madugu Foundation by the National Agricultural Extension, Research and Liaison Services iat General Hospital Gwandu.
Commissioning the projects, Dr. Nasir Idris commended Madugu Foundation and management of Agricultural Extension, Research and Liaison Services for the gesture which according to him would go along way in complimenting state government's commitment towards improving healthcare delivery in the state.
Governor Nasir Idris represented by State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi called on people in the state to emulate the gesture made by Madugu Foundation not only in health sector, but in other human sectors for the overall development of the state.
He assured the readiness of Governor Nasir Idris' administration to ensure massive improvements in all sectors particularly in healthcare delivery in the state.
Also speaking, the former Minister of Justice of the Federation, Abubakar Chika Malami, SAN who commended the Madugu Foundation for the philanthropic effort also called on the Hospital's management and Gwandu Community to use the projects judiciously.
He further urged the people of the area to always support government's policies and programs for more dividends of democracy.
The Founder of Madugu Foundation, Alhaji Faruku Madugu Gwandu said his foundation sought the collaboration of the National Agricultural Extension, Research and Liaison Services to construct the projects in Hospital as part of his efforts to compliment state government's commitment to improving healthcare delivery system.
Furthermore, Madugu Gwandu highlighted some of the achievements ranging from providing job opportunities to people in Gwandu local government among others.
In their separate remarks, the Commissioner of Health, Yanusa Musa Ismail, the representative of the Emir of Gwandu, Bunun Gwandu, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi S. Kudu and the Principal Medical Officer, Gwandu General Hospital, Dr. Aliyu Umar Yauri commended the Madugu Foundation and management of National Agricultural Extension, Research and Liaison Services for constructing the meaningful projects in the hospital.
They appealed to the state government to provide more accommodation to the personnel and supply solar panels to the hospital for effective power supply in the facility.
Highlight of the event was formal commissioning of the maternity complex and two blocks of 40-bed capacity patient wards at the General Hospital.
