Gov. Idris pledges consistent support for badminton game. The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has pledged to extent all the necessary support to the game of badminton to make it more famous than football in Nigeria. Alhaji Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor made this known in a statement made available to Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday. Idris quoted his principal as saying this at the final of a badminton competition organised by the Association of Badminton Clubs in Nigeria held in Sokoto. The governor, who promised to do everything possible to make the game more famous, also said: "I want a situation where the game of badminton will attract more audience than football in Nigeria.
